"Let them eat cake" (aka. HAPPY2014)

The year 2014 got a warm welcome by the NSF-scouts at Ransbergs Herrgård in Värmland, Sweden. Alot of new wonderful friends, a nice cavalier, good food and drinks (virgin of course). Since it was a masquerade ball it was quite expected of one to make their own mask, do alot of dancing and be just a bit over the top. So I went dressed up like Marie Antoinette. BEFORE she lost her head of course.

It was alot of preparing, traveling time, time traveling and fun! The dress I wore for the evening I had found at a local thrift store (hehe, you probably got that thrift shop song in your head now)  in Växjö. It needed some repair and modification. Handmade old thing. So I pimped it and puffed it (didn't have nearly enough volume at the back to measure up to Marie's standards!) Also customized some earrings to match the necklace and I hand stitched an underskirt that was very much like a pair of bloomers. My twin sister arranged the wig which took an incredible amount of time. THANKSx2! And thank goodness that style not in fashion now...

Shoulderloaded little black

When I went to India I fell in love with a roll of sequin decorations that very much looked like the eyes of peacock feathers... in gold! I stitched them on by hand onto this dress I made, one by one. This is no longer just any little black dress with shoulder puffiness overload! (Shoulderload?)

You should atleast once in your life atleast sew something by hand. It will help you put things in perspective. In India alot of things handmade and it's so cheap it makes me want to puke. Still people keep on dickering because they just don't get how much work is behind it all. Please, show some respect for the crafts.

Trinity Tiger Top

The favorite pieces in your closet are usually the ones you can use in several different ways. This stretchy top can be tied either in the front or in the back... or you can just leave it open! Also (to make up for all the sleeves that have been too short in my life) I decided to make them super extra long. The trinity tiger top goes with a great deal of the stuff in my closet, but I think I will make a black one too. We all like the little black one.
