Shoulderloaded little black
When I went to India I fell in love with a roll of sequin decorations that very much looked like the eyes of peacock feathers... in gold! I stitched them on by hand onto this dress I made, one by one. This is no longer just any little black dress with shoulder puffiness overload! (Shoulderload?)

The lady with pin cushion hair
As an art student you usually get alot of stuff laying around like clay sculptures that are just sitting around the place. I needed a new pin cushion and so I crocheted her a little bun wig. Looks a bit voodoo!

SiDEKiCK!
When I found the small brass hangers (commonly used for hanging up decorative embroidery pieces on the wall) on second hand it gave me a smashing idea and after hanging out with the brother (my sewing machine) for a while it was complete - An adorable little purse just waiting to accompany you to the next party! The outside is a fabric I have woven in a pattern called "goose eye" and the bright fabric on the inside are supposed to make it easier finding things in your purse even when you don't have the right light. Still what I like the most about it (besides the pocket inside) is that you can put your ring and middle finger through the two bigger holes in the hangers to make brass knuckles so (if you need to) you can defend yourself.

String of imagination
Lamp project: I wanted to knit one but I didn't have enough yarn for it (yeah,
usually never have enough of the materials commonly used for making
things. You poor student, you.)
When I was about to give up on the idea my eyes fell onto the giant roll
of super thin paper. The lightbulb in my head went on. I cut the paper
into long strips, glued them together making them even longer and
twisted those strips into yarn. Paper yarn. Just so the paper won't
touch the bulb I made this steel wire thing inside of the lamp which
also helps it maintain it's beehive like form.

Nemas reklamas
Did a bead sign at paranoiacon (this pretty awsome nerd gathering in Gnosjö). "Nemas reklamas" - no ads. My own design (though I borrowed the words of someone else). Gonna hang it on my door. Yeah!

The puppet master
The other day we (the Teater Respekt crew) visited the puppet master Galo Gonzales. We got to see Galos studio, a closed down old brewery which is now filled with dolls, clutter and a tiny stage. Puppets became a real hit in the renaissance epoque, but it didn't show up in Sweden until the 18th century.
Galo Gonzales - the puppet master
A Charlie Chaplin doll he bought on one of his many travels.
Hanging out in the studio
You can make dolls almost out of anything!
After visiting the studio we got to make 3D doll "sketches" in carboard and medicinal tape.

Engraving on my mind!
The same day I was celebrating one week as a Växjö citizen they had their annual culture night (for me? Aww, you shouldn't have!) and so I went with my sister Alice and her boyfriend to see what was goin' down. Besides chocolate testing, a pyro/dance show, art exhibitions and live music we got to try out some engraving on glass at smålands museum. The machine was kind of like the ones tattoo artists would use.
Once one got the hang of it twas easy to get carried away. Maybe it's my new weapon of choice?
This is what I did...

Fancy a plate?
Today I visited artist Iréne Haglund (Marintodesign) and she showed me the ways of porcelain decorating which is a skill she learned from her mother who besides being a housewife kicked some ass at pimping porcelain.
One of her mother's designs. Gotta love that old wrinkled up tracing paper!
Iréne is mixing the powder and medium to make porcelain paint.
As for my own design - I went spontaneous... for about 2,5 h!
Good thing I'm only half hindustani or else there would be some serious over-decoration going on ;) I didn't have enough time to do anything revolutionairy (since I'm in the midst of packing my things and moving to another city) but next time there might be unicorns. Now let's just hope this thing survives the oven.

Flower hour
Usually I avoid purple. I don't know why I do, but then when I saw this lovely fabric I just had to have it even though I had no clue what I wanted to do with it. So I kept it in a closet for months... until this tuesday when my eyes stumbled upon it again and there was that old flame of mine burning strong again and I immediately knew what I was to make of it. It's always the simple things that are the best and it took only one lazy day to make it.
Thanks to my dear sister Cecilia for modelling, trusting me with her camera for an hour and showing me how Lr (Light room) works. Peace.
